 The Society for Range Management (SRM) and the American Forage and Grassland Council (AFGC) are teaming for the 61^st Annual SRM Meeting in January of 2008.  The meeting will be held at the Galt House Hotel and Suites, January 27-31, 2008.   

The theme of the meeting is “Building Bridges – Grasslands to Rangelands”.  This theme was chosen to remove a barrier we create by labeling land as grassland or rangeland.  One expected outcome is to have increased communication between grassland managers in the east and rangeland managers in the west.  Hopefully, this will translate into improved wildlife habitat, livestock production or other societal values.   

 Our theme will also allow us to Build Bridges over the chasm that exists between public agencies, conservation groups, and livestock producers.  We hope to foster discussions that lead to long term partnerships that improve the health and sustainability of our range and grassland resources.
